There are not ten. We checked every name on the published lists and most of them are companies in Bhubaneswar — for a reason that is worth understanding before you shortlist anyone.

Search for the top 10 IT companies in Kataka and you will find several lists, all confident, mostly wrong. We checked the names on them one at a time against company websites and MCA records. Kataka has a small number of genuine IT firms — considerably fewer than ten — and the padding on those lists is made up of companies headquartered thirty kilometres away in Bhubaneswar, plus a few businesses that are not IT companies at all. This page gives you the verified list, explains the specific error that produces the fake ones, and tells you what to do if your requirement is larger than Kataka can serve. That is more useful than a list of ten names, seven of which would waste your time.
Every company named on published Kataka lists was checked against its own website or its MCA record. Four turned out to be based in Bhubaneswar: Mindfire Solutions (Infocity, Patia), Orimark Technologies (Khandagiri), Wayindia, and Sadyogi Technology Services (Rasulgarh). One, Arihant International, is genuinely in Kataka but is not an IT company — it sells software alongside agarbathi, perfume and soap manufacturing. What remains is listed below. Two further names could not be verified from any primary source and are therefore not listed at all rather than included on directory data.
There is a specific, mechanical reason, and once you know it you can spot the error yourself in seconds.
The Registrar of Companies at Kataka is the registrar for the whole of Odisha. Every company incorporated anywhere in the state — Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur, Sambalpur — is registered at ROC Kataka. It is a jurisdiction, not an address.
Business directories scrape MCA data, read the ROC city as though it were the company's location, and publish the result. That single mistake generates a Kataka listing for every IT company in Odisha. It is why Mindfire Solutions, Orimark Technologies, Wayindia and Sadyogi Technology Services all appear on Kataka lists while their own websites give Bhubaneswar addresses.
How to check in under a minute: on the MCA record, the ROC jurisdiction and the registered office address are two different fields. Only the second tells you where a company actually is. Better still, look at the contact page on the company's own website — a firm with an office in Bhubaneswar will say so.
For what it is worth, our own CIN is U62011OD2026PTC054718, also ROC Kataka. In our case the office genuinely is in Kataka district, but the CIN alone would not prove it, and you should not take our word for that either.
For a website, a business system, local support or anything needing regular face-to-face contact, a Kataka firm is a sensible choice and the travel argument is real.
For a large multi-year build, a specialist discipline like geospatial or supply-chain integration, or a team of thirty engineers, Cuttack does not have the depth and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Bhubaneswar is roughly thirty kilometres away and has firms with two decades of history, CMMI Level 5 appraisals and headcounts in the hundreds. We publish a verified list of those as well. Treat the two cities as one market with a half-hour commute in it, because that is how the buyers here already behave.
